SAFETY CHECK AND TUNE
$65.00
Your bike is collected and taken to the workshop for servicing or serviced on site (depending on location).
The chain is checked to assess wear, the components are inspected and repair/replacement recommendations are made.
The brakes are adjusted, resetting pads and calliper locations for optimal contact. The cable tensions are adjusted to make sure the brake levers pull evenly and bite strongly.
The derailleur hanger is checked and straightened if required.
The gears are adjusted, resetting the shift limits and adjusting the gears. The chain is lubricated.
Bolts across the bike are checked and torqued as required, bars and saddles will be straightened and levers will be levelled together.
The tyres are inflated to recommended pressures.
The bike is test ridden to check everything is running great.
THE STANDARD

Includes everything from the Safety Check and Tune service, but first..
The bike is stripped down for a clean! The frame, wheels and components are washed and degreased to get rid of dirt and grease residue.
The chain, cassette and drive-side crank are degreased using automotive degreaser, blown dry and re-lubricated using top quality dry-lube.
If applicable the brake discs and pads are decontaminated to remove squeals and improve braking performance.
The bottom bracket and headset are checked then cleaned and regreased as required.
The shift and brake housings are lubricated before the gears and brakes are adjusted.
BIKE BUILDS
$POA - Kmart to Canyon, it varies a lot.
I will build your bike! There’s sometimes a bit of stigma associated with bringing bikes bought online into brick and mortar cycle stores and often nice bikes bought from stores such as Pushys, Bike Bug, Wiggle and Canyon don’t get the professional build they deserve. You bring it to me in the box, I’ll get it assembled safely and dialled in so you’re getting to enjoy the quality bike you paid for like you picked it up from the store.
EVERYTHING ELSE
$POA - Charged by the hour in 30 minute increments.
I estimate the time for each job based on your needs, the condition of your bike and my knowledge of prior jobs. I then quote you on the rate for the specific service requirements. You can supply the parts required if required for the work, or parts can be sourced either locally or from online suppliers. The work will be completed efficiently and billed honestly.
I can provide all of the servicing options you’d get from a brick and mortar store, and often more. Suspension servicing, bearing overhauls and replacements, tubeless conversions, tube changes, parts installations, wheel building, wheel trues, cabling, group-set upgrades, brake bleeds and many other services are available using high quality tools and consumables with my knowledge and experienced labour.
ABOUT YOUR NEW MECHANIC
My name is Jackie and I’ve been a professional bike mechanic for almost 11 years. I started out working in a busy inner city store in Perth, Western Australia servicing mostly commuter bikes and weekend racers. I then moved to a specialty store, Cycles Bespoke and spent 7 years providing high end mechanical services and custom builds for all styles of bike and cyclist.
I've built hundreds of custom wheels since joining Cycles Bespoke and have supplied wheels to customers of all types, from the hard riding commuter to national and world champion racers.
I have also provided mechanical support to touring international teams such as the Swiss and Dutch national track teams, NRS teams and individual racers from the national to world stage.
With a significant understanding of bicycle related mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems and a tonne of experience fixing pretty much everything on any style of bike I've decided to forge my own path and offer convenient affordable servicing to my new home, Alice Springs.
I feel that I can provide honest and unbiased top level service, no matter the brand or style of bike. I can get it running like a dream and help you to keep it that way!
Bikies:
While I'm not the most active cyclist these days, once upon a time I took racing pretty seriously and trained a lot to mix it up in the mid-pack. I raced track and road as a privateer before some sponsorship came my way. I always mountain biked on the side and thoroughly enjoyed my time on the trails.
These days I can be found doing the occasional run out to the high point, racing 'CX' and mountain biking the Alice trails.
Other:
I played American football on and off for 5 years, I'm a Level 1 AWF Weightlifting coach at Central Outback Crossfit and train there 6 days a week. I've got a cool Kelpie sidekick, Moxie and I moved to Alice with my partner Hannah in April 19. I also cook American Style BBQ for my other venture, West Macs BBQ and love a top class smoked Brisket!
